12pm – 3pm
This class will cover the following:
- The language of line (rope)
- Knot tying
- How we communicate
- Zeroing in on the learners needs
- Climbing systems. A brief history, lots about friction savers and up through SRS
- Rigging basics
If there’s a pile of line on the ground, where’s the front, back, top, bottom, left, right, inside, outside? Are any of these terms even helpful when guiding someone through learning new knots? What if we all used a standardized set of terms to do just that? Come with me on a brief voyage of our history of using tension fibers and its application to the art, science, study, and care of trees.
