ISA Certified Tree Climber

Attention all hotshot tree climbers! This certification is for climbers with 18 months experience or more.
There are a lot of unknowns associated with the CTC process but each ISA Chapter is required to promote this certification and offer this exam. We intend to comply. We are confident that with your cooperation and contribution we will soon have lots of proud CTCs and a handful of capable CTC Evaluators in Iowa and Minnesota.
In April we are holding a two-day event at 7173 Hadley Valley Rd. in Rochester, Minnesota. This is close to Iowa to accommodate IAA and Minnesota Society of Arboriculture (MSA) people.
On April 17, we will hold the CTC skills exam for candidates that have had their application approved by ISA and are enrolled for this skills exam. Our current understanding, based on our reading of any / all available ISA information and discussions with ISA personnel, is that a CTC candidate is not required to have passed the written CTC exam in order to take the skills exam. We may be mistaken. You may discover that we are mistaken in your application and enrollment process. If so, please let us know.
Again, while we don’t think it is necessary to have taken the written CTC exam in order to take the skills exam in Rochester, we do know that you must have had your application approved by ISA and be enrolled for this skills exam in order to take this skills exam.
As we are able to understand, you will start this process by familiarizing yourself with the CTC process at the ISA CTC Program Guide here Certified-Tree-Climber-Application-Guide.pdf then applying, then enrolling.
On April 18, the next day, we intend to hold CTC Evaluator Training for eligible CTCs including some of the CTCs who just passed the skills exam and became CTCs the day before. You will start this process by familiarizing yourself with the CTC Evaluator process here International Society of Arboriculture > Credentials > Certification Facilitators > Proctors and Evaluators .
Be the first in your company to become a proud CTC! See you in Rochester!
